US state mulls banning phones with hard-to-replace batteries

The United States of America state of Washington has reportedly tabled a bill that aims to ban devices containing "difficult or impossible to remove" batteries. With a potential start date of Jan 1, 2019, the law would need portable devices to be repairable instead of disposable. This comes after Apple admitted to retardation down older iPhones with iOS updates because of aging batteries.readmore@Venture Beat
