Amazon rare job cuts at its headquarters
E-commerce giant Amazon.com Inc. is cutting several hundred corporate jobs from its Seattle headquarters and global operations. “As part of our annual planning process, we are making headcount adjustments across the company...small reductions in a couple of places and aggressive hiring in many others,” an Amazon spokesman said. “For affected employees, we work to find roles in the areas where we are hiring.” Currently, the company has 3,900 corporate jobs open in Seattle and 12,000 such positions open worldwide. The company continues hiring as Amazon’s global headcount stood at 566,000 in December, 66 percent higher than the last year.

Ganja Yoga: a new name in yoga list
A US' San Francisco, California based yoga instructor named Dee Dussault is offering ganja yoga classes, where people can smoke ganja(also called weed or recreational marijuana) before and while practicing yoga."There are anti-inflammatory benefits to cannabis and specifically CBD products can have amazing pain-relieving benefits and anti-anxiety, anti-depression benefits," she said. She introduced ganja yoga first in 2009 but, recreational marijuana was not legal back then. Her classes are gaining huge popularity after legalizing recreational marijuana in 8 US states including California, and capital Washington DC.Watch@YouTube

Maldives Crisis: President Declared Emergency
The Maldives goes unrest after Supreme Court issued an order to free top opposition leaders that includes former President Mohamed Nasheed and former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb. Defying the SC order, the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Monday night declared a 15-day state of emergency. "During this time though certain rights will be restricted, general movements, services, and businesses will not be affected," Yameen added. The situation between the current president and the SC increasingly getting into a bitter standoff position. French woman saved from 'Killer POK Mountain'
Elite climbing team saved French woman Elisabeth Revol who was stranded at Nanga Parbat at 7,400m (24,280ft), known as the 'Killer Mountain', in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Friday. Her partner Tomasz Mackiewicz who had developed snow blindness and frostbite during the climb, couldn't be rescued. The French woman had left her partner in a tent and descended further to call for help.readmore@BBC
