PV Sindhu, world number 4 Rio Olympic silver-medallist, defeated Spain's Beatriz Corrales to reach India Open semi-finals in New Delhi on Friday. She won the match in 54mins with a 21-12, 19-21, 21-11 verdict. Last week silver medalist in Indonesia Masters, Saina Nehwal, lost her quarterfinal in a straight games defeat to USA's Beiwan Zhang 10-21, 13-21.
