Maldives Crisis: President Declared Emergency

The Maldives goes unrest after Supreme Court issued an order to free top opposition leaders that includes former President Mohamed Nasheed and former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb.  Defying the  SC order, the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Monday night declared a 15-day state of emergency. "During this time though certain rights will be restricted, general movements, services, and businesses will not be affected," Yameen added.  The situation between the current president and the SC increasingly getting into a bitter standoff position. Modicare covers 10Cr. Families

Ten crore poor and vulnerable families are going to be benefited by The National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS) also termed as 'Modicare'. FM Arun Jaitley had termed the plan as "the world's largest government-funded healthcare programme that will cover fifty crore beneficiaries". The initiative will provide ₹5 lakh annual cover to each family that will in sum total requires ₹11,000 crore in state and central funding. Indian Defence gets 7.81% more fund in FY2018-2019

Indian gov. allocated an increased defence budget of  ₹2.95 lakh crore for FY 2018-2019, which is 7.81% more than the last year's ₹2.74 lakh crore. ₹1.85 lakh crore is going to be allocated to revenue expenditures which comprise salaries, training, and general services. The amount of around ₹93 thousand crores, allocated for capital expenditure, includes modernization related expenses. And ₹16 thousand crores are estimated for miscellaneous expenses. Flipkart Delivered Detergent Bar at ₹55K; FIR Launched

Tabrej Mehaboob Nagrali, a 26-year-old software engineer,  filed an FIR against e-commerce major Flipkart in Byculla police station in central Mumbai for allegedly delivering a detergent bar instead of an iPhone 8. He already made the full payment of ₹55,000. When PTI approached Flipkart, his spokesperson told that the company is already initiated an inquiry into the incident.

Carry your PAN while transacting over ₹2.5 lakh

In the proposed Finance Bill 2018, Gov. of India made 10-digit Permanent Account Number (PAN) mandatory for entities entering into a financial transaction of ₹2.5 lakh or more, effective from April 1, 2018. "It is proposed that every person, not being an individual, which enters into a financial transaction of an amount aggregating to ₹2.50 lakh or more in a financial year shall be required to apply to the Assessing Officer for allotment of PAN," it said. readmore@MoneyControl
